Listen to me and listen to me well!!! I have had absolutely almost every darn jamaican cuisine franchise restaurant in jersey!!!! Tolerated them because *it luk like everyone of them are here to please the taste buds of everyone EXCEPT JAMAICANS) & quite Frankly i dont like that all because they arent letting experience the TRUE JAMAICAN vibes/meals!!! But when mi tell yuh seh nuttin eva like dis b4!! This food Here from this restaurant was absolutely DELICIOUS let's not even mention the seasoning!! My Gawshh!! U ever want to taste how REAL YAD COOKING TASTE LIKE YALL GOTTA GO TO tafaritropicsrestaurant ASAP !! I am a PREGNANT jamaican myself i emphasize pregnant because when we hungry and we want something DONT PLAY IN OUR FACE!! We a different type of humans lololol and the way my whole body melted at love at first taste was as if I was back in jamaica in my grandmother or auntie kitchen!!! No lie!! The customer service & chef service absolutely unmatched!! They went above and beyond for me and my husband and they were sooooo respectful and mannersable and friendly (top notch) I can never go back to golden krust or the other spots of gone to again ill be way too judgemental & disappointed on site!!! Them ago get tired of mi!!! I am so glad I found this Resturant I am telling everyone to make a trip/ take that trip..it's a 35-45min driving depending on traffic BUT SOOO WORTH IT!! I very ever rarely do reviews but when I do!!! Yeah just know I made that necessary time! My husband & I order porridge & ackee &salt fish, callalol with the respected sides AMAZINESS like I said I felt like we were back home!! Tafari Tropics catered my awards dinner and the food was AMAZING! They had different varieties of rice and chicken, and the oxtails were a hit! Definitely ordering from them again!
First time ordering from here and it beyond satisfied our cravings! Oxtail was super tender with very minimal fat. Barely any oil floating on top of its sauce. Addition of butter beans made this all the better as some preps of this do not add. Hubs had stewed chicken and it was flavorful and moist. Sides of cabbage and rice and beans did not disappoint. A bit pricey, but we surely received plenty of food. I'm in no way connoisseur of this cuisine, but it surely hit the spot for our first order here. Def will order from again!
The food from here was real good. The rice and peas was on point. The Jerk chicken was not super spicy, but had a nice amount of kick to it. The festival was just perfect, crispy and flavorful, they way I used to get it in Brooklyn. I got a side of steamed veggies, cause I just love how good they taste by themselves.
